Hymns

Ephesians 5:18-21

Be filled by the Spirit:

-Speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs,

-Singing and making music in your heart to the Lord,

-Giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

-Submitting to one another in the fear of Christ.

Colossians 3:15-17

Let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts:

-Be thankful.

-Let the word of Christ dwell richly among you, in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another through psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

-Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

Text:

I was dead in my sins and I walked in transgression
I wandered alone in the night.
But I learned of the Savior who suffered on Calv'ry;
He saved me and made my soul right.

I believed in His word and I turned and confessed Him,
was born by His pow'r from above.
I'm redeemed, I am happy, praise Jesus forever;
I'm singing the song of God's love.

There's rejoicing in Heaven when one straying sinner
comes back to the fold of the King.
All the angels in glory are hymning the praise of
the love of our God as they sing.

Chorus:
The truth in the Bible tells us about Jesus
who came down from Heaven above,
to suffer and die on the cruel cross of Calv'ry;
its all in the song of God's love.

Text:

Christ the very form of God,
did not seek to seize His place.
Humbled and for all resolved,
emptied self to show His grace.

Christ in servant for came down,
born in likeness of all men,
filled with love and for His own,
shed His blood to cleanse our sin.

Christ, whose mind we are to know,
taught us how to freely give,
raised in glory to His throne,
one day with Him we will live.

Christ, the name above all names,
thankful praise our tongues confess.
Jesus Christ the King who reigns,
faithful love our lives profess.

He is Ever Near

Text: Doy Moyer 2018

Music: Luke Moyer 2018

Text:

Verse 1
When in the fearful land of doubt,
I seek to know my place.
In dreadful longing I cry out
to see my Savior's face.

Verse 2
Am I alone to tread the road?
Alone to face the day?
Will I have strength to bear the load?
Or give in to the fray?

Verse 3
"You cannot do this all alone,"
I hear Him gently sign.
"You have no strength to call your own;
on Me you must rely.

Verse 4
So to my God again I yield.
Why did I ever fear?
He is my refuge and my shield,
and He is ever near.

Text:

O, Lord we come before You now; we offer You our praise;
The sacrifice of lips that magnify Your name.
We are not worthy for our sins have left us in disgrace.
But now in Christ You've taken all our guilt away.

You made the heavens and the earth; You spoke and it was don.
The power of Your word is shown to everyone.
You proved how much You love us all by giving us Your Son.
Through Him we are the victors and have overcome.

For all that You have given us, we thank You, Mighty Lord.
For daily bread, abounding grace, and life restored.
To thank You now in song and praise according to Your word,
is joy for us and will be ours forevermore.

We look ahead when trumpet sound will signal that great day,
when He returns and with Him we will soar away.
We'll don immortal bodies that will never know decay.
The resurrection's coming! Praise the Lord this day!

Chorus:
Glory to God for our salvation!
(Worship the Savior, honor and praise Him,)
Give to the Lord the sacrifice of praise!

God Almighty Come (The Armor of God)

Text: Luke Moyer 2018

Music: "Willamette" Joel A. Erickson, 2004. Public Domain. Arranged by Luke Moyer

Listen:

Text:

God Almighty come deliver; break the yoke of evil lies.
Loose the chains of sin that hold us; bind Your truth around our lives.

God Almighty come adorn us; fit us with Your righteousness.
Help our hearts to shed all evil; suite our works with holiness.

God Almighty come direct us; let the war of sin decease.
May the goodness of our Savior guide our feet to walk in peace.

God Almighty come protect us; be a strong and faithful shield.
Hide us from the darts of Satan; save us from this battlefield.

God Almighty come enlighten; guide our eyes to see Your love.
With the helmet of salvation train our minds to look above.

God Almighty come to conquer; judge with wrath and grace combined.
With Your word cut flesh from spirit; conquer first our heart and mind!

Jesus and Shall It Ever Be?

Text: Joseph Grigg c.1765

Music: Luke Moyer 2017

Listen:

Text:

Jesus, and shall it ever be, a mortal man ashamed of Thee?
Ashamed of Thee whom angels praise? Whose glories shine through endless days?

Ashamed of Jesus! Sooner far let night disown each radiant star!
Tis midnight with my soul till He, Bright Morning Star, bid darkness flee.

Ashamed of Jesus! That dear friend on whom my hopes of Heav'n depend?
It must not be! Be this my shame: if I no more revere His name.

Ashamed of Jesus! Yes I may, when I've no guilt to wash away,
no tear to wipe, no good to crave, no fears to quell, no soul to save.

Till then (nor is my boasting vain), till then I boast a Savior slain.
And, oh, may this my portion be: this Savior not ashamed of me!

The Law of Love

Text: Luke Moyer 2017

Music: "Come Home, Poor Sinner" by H.R. Jeffrey, 1877. Public Domain. Arranged by Luke Moyer

Listen:

Text:

Hate what is evil. Hold to the right.
Bless those who hurt you. Bless, do not fight.
Care for the lowly. Humble your sight.
Trust not your wisdom. Trust not your might.

Always be peaceful. Heed what men say.
Never take vengeance; God will repay.
Feed your attacker. Kindness display.
Fight not by evil. Choose love today.

Be in subjection. Mind those who lead.
Obey your masters; you will succeed.
Serve men with honor. God has decreed:
They will reward you for every deed.

Render obedience. Give what is due.
Show them deference through what you do.
Default on nothing. Owe love anew.
Law is completed! Love works in you!

Then I Will Know

Text: Luke Moyer 2018

Music: Luke Moyer 2018

Listen:

Text:

I need no walls around this city,
for I have God: a fire about me.
He sees me as a glorious treasure
and saves me from the plunderer.
Pursue me now and be my Savior,
then I will know that God has sent You to me.

I shout for Joy to see Your coming,
for You declared a holy dwelling.
In all the earth for every nation,
Your call goes forth to everyone!
Create in us Your habitation,
then I will know that God has sent You to me.

I stand accused by my old master.
My new Lord stands as my Redeemer.
He takes from me my fleshly station
and substitutes His flawless Son.
Forgive my sins. Renew my actions,
then I will know that God has sent You to me.

Then crown my heart with Your salvation,
and clothe my strength with restoration.
Rebuild my mind to be Your temple,
the sacrifice: my very soul!
I'm coming near in full obedience
for now I know that God has sent me to You.

Will You Listen?

Text: Luke Moyer 2018

Music: Luke Moyer 2018

Listen:

Text:

Jerusalem, who stood for peace,
destroys the men who brought release.
Jerusalem, the rock renowned,
collects her stones to strike them down.

We bless the coming of the Lord.
We shout "hosana" to His name,
but if our hearts are desolate
our chants of glory are in vain.

Chorus:
For as a mother hen will bring
her chicks to rest beneath her wing,
I long so much to bring you near,
but will you listen? Will you hear?
